Deep Silver has announced the release date for Escape From Dead Island, the cel-shaded action game that will connect the events of Dead Island and Dead Island 2, along with a new trailer.

Escape From Dead Island, developer by Fatshark, will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC on November 21.

The trailer, below, shows us what to expect out of the title--a bit of a departure from the original game. There is still plenty of melee combat and zombie-killing, but it is accompanied by a vastly different visual style, and the exact nature of the gameplay isn't clear from the footage alone.

Destiny Will Not Allow You To Trade Items Between Players

You will play as Chris Calo, a character set on discovering the origins of the zombie outbreak and getting that story back to the public (even, as he says, at the cost of his own life). It's difficult to tell if there are wide-open regions or more linear areas, though it seems leaning towards the latter. Keep an eye out for more details and footage as the release date approaches.
