'Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries' Dark Fairy Tale Platformer Meets Kickstarter Goal, Creates Tabletop RPG Version For Backers

Not Only Did The 3D Platformer Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries Meets Its Kickstarter Goal, Now It's Also Becoming A Tabletop Game

When a new game in progress hits its funding goal on Kickstarter, it's typical for it to start shooting for some stretch goals like adding features to the existing build. It doesn't usually decide to create a separate game altogether.

Gaymer X Third Edition Now On Kickstarter

Now that the fairy tale-inspired platformer Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries from developer GRIN has reached its funding goal, the developer announced that it would be sending backers a surprise bonus: a PDF of a tabletop RPG version of the game. Further, the developer has announced a new tier of physical add-on rewards to supplement their existing digital rewards. New prizes like game posters, artbooks, soundtracks and a deluxe edition of the game are now detailed on the game's Kickstarter page.

As might be evident from the title, Woolfe: The Ref Hood Diaries puts players in the shoes of a tough and gritty version of Little Red Riding Hood. Armed with an axe, players make their way around a 3D platforming world filled with creepy enemies also inspired by various children's tales – the boss that appears to be a demonic version of Pinocchio comes to mind. The game includes some hack-and-slash combat elements as well as environmental puzzles for the players to solve as they make their way through this alternative fairy tale world.

Woolfe still has another day or so left on its Kickstarter, so you still have the chance to get in on this project while it's still in the works. The game is set to release for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2015.
