iPhone 6 News: Line Already Forming At New York City Apple Store Before Device Is Even Revealed

People Are Already in Line for the New iPhone

Apple lovers are already lining up at the company's flagship store at 57th and 5th in New York City, hungry to be the first to have their hands on the new iPhone being announced on September 9. The line, now just a handful, started forming this morning, a full six days before CEO Tim Cook will take the stage in San Francisco and introduce us all to the new goodies from Apple.

If last year is any indication, these hopefuls have an even longer wait ahead of them. Last year, Apple announced the iPhone 5S and the colorful iPhone 5C on September 10, but they weren't available in stores until 10 days later.

For all its disruption of the marketplace, Apple is known for consistency, so these eager Apple customers may have to wait at least until September 19 before getting their (unshowered) hands on the coolest new thing and having something to boast about on social media.

Predictions Say The First iPhone 6s Will Not Have Sapphire Screens, But Future Models Might

Will the device live up to these Applephiles' dreams?

Rumors have been swirling ever since Cook brought us the last batch of smartphones, but several have sharpened up--the most expensive option could have a 5.5-inch screen, putting it into the phablet arena with Apple's current enemy, Samsung.

Either way, you never see this sort of hardcore dedication when a Windows Phone drops.
