WWE 2K15 News Round-Up: Character Roster, Release Date, Last Gen Restrictions?

WWE 2K15 May Not Only Be On Physical Media For Last Gen

After the ongoing tumult with former WWE Superstar CM Punk and his royalties-related dispute with the Vince McMahon's company for allowing the use of his likeness in the upcoming WWE 2K15 wrestling game, it looks like 2K Sports may be heading for another minor controversy.

Over at the official WWE 2K15 forums, community manager Jared Rea answered a fan's question on when WWE 2K15 would be available on PSN, given that NBA 2K15 had already been pre-orderable for two weeks. The response given was: "WWE 2K15 will be available digitally for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, no date set on when it'll be available for a digital pre-order. We'll make an announcement as soon as it happens for sure."

A very interesting way to phrase it. Why leave out the last-gen consoles for whom the game is definitely being developed as well in response to that question? Will the PS3 and Xbox 360 only get physical releases? What would be the point of that? One would think that, if anything, it'd be the last gen consoles that would start getting quietly phased out by not going the whole hog and releasing physical media for them. We will keep you up to speed on this as it develops.

Take A Look At The 62 Names For WWE 2K15

The game will have 62 announced Superstars, Divas, and Legends, a MyCareer mode, a Showcase mode for re-enacting legendary feuds and a Create-A-Fighter mode, not unlike one would have in a Sims game, but with more chair-smashing.

WWE 2K15 will be out for PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on October 28 for North America and October 31 for Europe.
