Samsung Shows Off Galaxy Note 4 Strength, Pokes Fun At Apple iPhone 6 Bending [VIDEO]

Samsung Wants You To Know That The Galaxy Note 4 Doesn't Bend

With the upcoming release of the Galaxy Note 4 phablet, Samsung has shown that it is not afraid to directly confront Apple and it's new iPhone 6 through advertising. A new video posted to the Samsung Tomorrow doesn't directly confront the iPhone, but it's hard to miss the implied jabs.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Will Retail For $299 With Contract, Releasing This Month

The main point of the new video is to show the Galaxy Note 4's durability under pressure. It shows the phone undergoing a typical three-point pressure test before moving on to something called the "human weight test." In a feat of mechanical engineering excellence, Samsung has a clothed set of robotic hindquarters sit on the Note 4 hundreds of times with a force equivalent to a 220-pound person sitting on their smartphone.

As would be expected from a Samsung promotional video, the Galaxy Note 4 looks like it comes out of these rigorous tests no worse for the wear.

Apple Takes Reporters Inside Cupertino Stress Test Facility To Combat Bending Concerns

Though this video doesn't directly confront the iPhone 6, it's certainly well timed considering the iPhone 6 only recently got through consumer concerns of bending. After several videos surfaced of iPhone 6 owners deliberately bending their devices, Apple responded by opening up its stress test facilities and reiterating that only nine consumers had reported accidentally bending their phones in their pockets. It's hard to imagine that this Samsung video isn't a targeted response to this whole ordeal, but the video itself isn't really confrontational at face value.

The Galaxy Note 4 is set for a worldwide release this month. After Apple's reports of selling 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units over the devices' opening weekend, Samsung has stated that it intends to ship 15 million Note 4 units in the phone's first month.
