Super Smash Bros Wii U Stage Builder Shown Off In Pic Of The Day, Make A Stage Out Of Giant Kirbys

Super Smash Bros Wii U will be largely similar to the 3DS version in terms of gameplay, characters, and stages, but there are notable differences between the two as well.

The 3DS version had been the focus of most reveals leading up to its launch--the largest info dump for the Wii U edition was delivered recently in a livestream. The reveals included the board game-style Smash Tour: World Smash, eight player battles, playable Mewtwo, and more.

The Wii U's stage creator was one such feature, and the pic of the day via the Miiverse Forums gives us a glimpse of how it looks. You can draw on the gamepad's screen to create lines, such as the Kirby depictions in the image above. I can imagine it's a little unwieldy, but you can definitely be creative as series director Masahiro Sakurai explains in the accompanying description:

Halo 2 Anniversary Cinematic Launch Trailer Looks Fantastic, Reminds You Why The Game Was Great

"In Stage Builder, you can draw lines on your Wii U GamePad to create stages!! It might not be the easiest stage to battle on, but you can even make stages like this one."

He suggests you watch the recent broadcast for more information, so I've linked it below if you haven't seen it. It contains a look at the stage builder, among the many other features mentioned above. Super Smash Bros for Wii U is due out November 21.
