Stronghold Crusader 2 News: Check Out This Loving Recreation Of Minas Tirith From The Lord Of The Rings, And Attack It [VIDEO]

Lord Of The Stronghold Crusader II: Minas Tirith Map Comes To Middle Ages Themed PC Title

What's the point of having a very advanced castle editor if you can't somehow work Lord of the Rings into it? The question was asked, and Stronghold Crusader II players answered.

Tile Improvements Come To Civilization: Beyond Earth

An enterprising player named Micha decided that he was upset at the lack of Middle-earth content on the strategy sequel and went ahead and recreated Minas Tirith, the Tower of the Guard and the capitol of Gondor. The city is the centerpiece of one of the original trilogy's most epic battles in Return of the King, the Battle of the Pellennor Fields.

Now, granted there are a few things missing. This is a real world sim set in the Middle Ages and as such, players do not have access to flying Nazgul, giants, orcs, a wizard or the ultimate cheat code 'ghost army', which guarantees automatic victory.

But it's not about the battle itself. Simply creating the intricate seven walled city is a feat. And it saves us all the time and effort. Hell, it even comes with its own version of Osgiliath! Sure, it might not be as accurate as that Minecraft version, but this one is interactive.

You can watch the 25-minute runthrough below, complete with commentary from the original creator. I would humbly request that they add in some of the Return of the King music to spice up the action just a touch.

Word of caution, the "host" must be on the defending side, else the invasion groups will swap over. It's not possible to play the attacking side against an AI.

Now, with Minas Tirith out of the way, I demand more tie-in castles. In keeping with the Lord of the Rings theme, we absolutely need Isengard, Dol Guldur (from The Hobbit films), Minas Morgul (though that can be in its Minas Ithil days) and a huge map featuring both the Black Gate and Baradur, complete with glowing eye and volcanic mountain.
