Skyrim DLC: Snow Elves, Prince Mystery Revealed and Crossbows?

Speculations are swirling regarding the possible release of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim downloadable content pack sometime next week.

"I am working on getting a little more info out on Skyrim/DLC. Maybe next week? We'll see. Also trying to confirm Kinect release date," tweeted Pete Hines, Vice President of PR and Marketing at Bethesda, the developers of the game.

If the discussion on the Bethesda forum is to be followed, one of the members found Skyrim patches which may have revealed what is about to come in the game with references of "Snow Elves" and "Snow Elf Prince".

According to what has been found, one can also expect to find the DLC pack in the release as the patch also include a folder called "DLC01" and also "Crossbows" and a mention of "RF."

A forum user "phasmatishaunt" uncovered more information about the upcoming patch including a list of file names which may be signalling a new weapon and character.  The files included words such as "SnoElfPrinceDialogueA" and "CrossBow_Aim" in the listing.

"Undoubtedly the most exciting addition of the upcoming DLC pack is crossbows, which suggests a new weapon type for Bethesda's action role-playing game. While RF, meanwhile, remains unknown, fans have suggested that it could be related to the initials of a new follower," reports Cinema Blend.

Skyrim's new patch may also suggest that an invading race of creatures called Falmers will be a part of the story behind the Snow Elves and Snow Elf Prince.  The Snow Elves were a lost race who degenerated into Falmers after habituating into the dark caverns for centuries.  Prior to the Snow Eleves' transformation into Falmers, the  Snow Elf Prince led his race into a mighty war against Ysgramor.  The Prince would lose his life in the battle.  Inclusion of the Snow Elf Prince with the latest patch may bring more details into the mysterious fate of the Snow Elves race.

However, these are just assumptions that have been buzzing around and fans will have to wait for the official announcement from Bethesda.

As of now, the Skyrim Kinect feature for Xbox 360 Support will feature more than 200 Voice Commands including the game's dragon shouts, which will create and load saves during gameplay, allowing players to access menus and inventories. The game will also support new functionality including special map functions, additional hotkey options with the ability to sort inventory items by name, weight and value.

The first set of game add-ons will be exclusive for Xbox 360. However, fans will have to wait for the additional content, which includes new quests, locations, features and much more to the world of Skyrim.
