First Telltale Game Of Thrones Trailer Released: Cersei Narrates Debut Video

Telltale Games has released the debut teaser trailer for its upcoming Game of Thrones adaptation, which will put players in the shoes of House Forrester family members.

HBO GO App Now Available On Xbox One

The trailer previews House Forrester's place in Westeros as bannermen to House Stark, with an ominous voiceover by Lena Heady, the actress behind the HBO series' Cersei Lannister. Telltale announced that she will be joined by Peter Dinklage (Tyrion Lannister), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell) and Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Snow) in the game, with more cast members joining in the future.

The first episode, Iron From Ice, is the start of a six-episode season, and will launch some time before the end of the year. You will play as five different characters, whose actions will have an effect on both the Game of Thrones world and House Forrester itself. Telltale warns that your actions will cause ripples that will truly have you engaged in the Game of Thrones, where you win or you die.

Throughout the season, players will journey to locations recognizable from the show and George R.R. Martin's book series A Song of Ice and Fire such as King's Landing and The Wall. You'll also spend time in new locales such as Ironrath, the home of House Forrester. The game's events will begin towards the end of the HBO series' third season, ending its narrative arc just before the beginning of season five.

The Forresters have not shown up in the HBO series, but are an established family created by author George R.R. Martin for the books (they do appear A Dance with Dragons). Their role is pretty vague at this time, and without spoiling anything, it will be interesting to see how they fit into the Game of Thrones universe during that time frame.
