Max Payne 3: A Soundtrack with that Multiplayer DLC? Yes, Please!

If you were planning on getting the upcoming Max Payne 3, here are more pieces of information that you might find pleasing. May Payne 3's unveiling of its Multiplayer DLC will also be accompanied with a digital soundtrack by an Los Angeles band named Health.

Fans can play to the various tunes from Health as Max blasts his way through thugs and gangsters in single and multiplayer mode.  The theme some called "Tears" will be available for download on iTunes and its other tracks were created side by side with the game's changing moods. 

"Rockstar gave us the freedom to bring our own sound to Max's dark story, and we're really proud of the results," said John Famiglietti, a member of the band Health.

Soundtracks to the game will range from optimistic joy to dark and gloomy.  The music will blend right into Max Payne 3's revolutionary gameplay and highly anticipated multiplayer.

According to Rockstar Games, seven downloadable content packs that focus on multiplayer aspects are already planned, starting with the Local Justice Map Pack coming out in June.

"The story of Max Payne 3 begins in the single-player game and crosses over into the deepest multiplayer experience we've ever created," said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games, in a statement.

"We intend to support the Max Payne community with new and innovative content well into the future."

This certainly is good news for the Max Payne fans - no more worries about having to play the game all by yourself.

The first DLC will be available one month after the game releases. According to the game developer's announcement, the "Local Justice" map pack will include police prescient map for Gang Wars, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Payne Killer multiplayer modes. The pack will also feature two additional maps for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer, new precinct-themed multiplayer avatar items, and multiplayer challenges.

Four more packs will be available in the summer, followed by two more in the fall. A total of five map packs, one co-op pack, and a game mode pack will be unveiled before the year ends.

Pre-order is available for the Max Payne 3 Rockstar DLC Pass for Xbox LIVE and the PlayStation Network from Best Buy and GameStop. The pricing information of each individual piece of DLC has not been announced yet, but getting all seven of them will be available at a discounted rate of 2400 Microsoft Points for Xbox LIVE or $29.99 for PlayStation Network and PC.

Max Payne 3 will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on May 15 in North America.
