People are excited about the upcoming Goblins vs Gnomes expansion for the new and wildly popular CCG. Since its announcement at Blizzcon, the dev team have been teasing out little bits and pieces of new content and new cards. The set will feature 120 new cards and a wealth of new gameplay mechanics to go along with them.

Since the expansion relies heavily on both Goblins and Gnomes, each race known for their tinkering, Blizzard revealed a new card type that fits their engineering mind: Spare Part. These are 1 cost spells that anyone can use, they up damage, health, or even swap the two. There are seven in all. You gain them when certain mechs are destroyed during a game.

Blizzard also revealed the next sneak preview. Introducing Coghammer!

Well, certainly wasn't expecting that. If anything, I'd have pegged this for a spell akin to a Spare Part. When Coghammer comes onto the field, the 2/3 creature gives a random friendly minion Divine Shield and Taunt. As with all things relating to Goblins and Gnomes, they don't work out exactly as you planned. Hence the random element.

Keeps life interesting. But one cannot argue the merits of a divine shield, which allows the next damage a minion takes to be ignored completely. If you play your cards right, and of course you are, because you're awesome, you can get something seriously beefy when you play Coghammer's Battlecry. The Taunt ability focuses all of your enemy's attention on your minion, letting your other guys escape free and clear.

The next card will be revealed Monday. You can vote for a bad ass looking stag thing or an even more bad ass looking three headed dragon. The dragon is currently winning.
