In a post on the game's website (thanks, PC Gamer), series creator Edmund McMillen announced that the development team at Nicalis will start work on the indie remake's expansion after the holidays. On the docket for content to be added include a new game mode (one that McMillen says will "double the amount of things you can do"), enemies, bosses, endings and a new playable character.

To keep things interesting, though, McMillen is officially sourcing ideas for the expansion from the game's fanbase itself. Over on this Reddit post, McMillen is collecting pitches for new types of items that could be included in the upcoming expansion. At the end of the week, he says he'll be rounding up the top suggestions and implementing them into the expansion. After that, it sounds like he'll do something similar, asking for suggestions but for a different element of the game.

Sony Is Trying To Make PS Plus A Better Product Now That People Use It

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth is a remake of the original macabre indie hit that had players controlling a small child trying to escape his mother's wrath with the projectile power of his own tears. The remake released earlier this month for PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. If you still haven't played the game but have a PS Plus account, Rebirth is still on the PS Plus free games list for the rest of the month.
