Max Payne 3 Delivers New Trailer and No Windows Live Games

Gamers who fear that Max Payne 3 might be bringing the game to Windows Live can now rest easy.

Development company Rockstar Games officially announced on its Twitter account that "Max Payne 3 will not use Games for Windows Live."

The news come as joy for fans who have complained about the annoying and under-par services that Microsoft's "Games for Window Live" delivers.  Rockstar will instead focus on its newly announced Arcade ode and fine tune the multiplayer mode that  was revealed in its latest trailer.

With Max Payne 3 launching on May 15, game developers Rockstar have released an official trailer showcasing over-the-shoulder zoom which aims at cover mechanics. It also featured classic run-and-gun shooting and bullet-time in action sequences.

The game is set eight years after Max lost his loved ones. In this latest title, Max is no longer a cop and he takes a job in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to protect real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco. Soon, he finds himself alone on the streets of an unfamiliar city seeking for truth and fighting to find a way out of it.

"When the game returns to our screens next week it will see each individual character given realistic momentum, weight and feel, and shows them reacting differently when hit by each individual bullet and calibre of weapon," reports Herald Sun.

In Max Payne 3, Max is a drug addict, depressed widower and lives in a mess as he tries to recover from his tragic loss. In this series, Max finds his comfort in drugs and alcohol as the players proceed through the each level.

"We've always wanted to tackle complex characters. Max is no different. A lot of people think of him like a cliché action star, but it's more interesting to dwell in the depression and alcoholism and the addictions," said Jeronimo Barrera, VP at Rockstar Games in an interview with The Verge.

This is the first time in the series that comes with multiplayer and returns to the world of Bullet time which allows Max to slow down time and attack enemies before they can even react.

The game, Max Payne 3 will be available for the Xbox 360 and PS3 on May 15th in North America. The PC version is expected to come two weeks later.
