Xbox One's Twitch app has been updated to include a slew of new broadcast filtering options and video on demand.

The console's app is now much more customizable in terms of searching for a stream: Microsoft announced that Twitch can now filter by player progress, game types, player stats, and more to provide the exact type of viewing experience you're looking for.

People generally have their favorite streamers, but many just search Twitch's offerings of a specific game. The examples Microsoft provides are that you can now look for the active Call of Duty streamer with the highest kill-to-death ratio, or the Halo player with the highest rank in a playlist. This should help those who want to find a certain type of gameplay, and also assist lesser known but skilled streamers in finding an audience.

Video on demand functionality has been added to the Xbox One's Twitch app as well, allowing users to watch past broadcasts and highlight videos, even when a streamer is offline. The Home screen has also been updated to offer your followed channels and streamers by default.

"Xbox One helped cement Twitch's place in the living room with its robust set of features," said Annie Berrones, Director of Product Marketing, Twitch. "With this impressive set of updates, including the ability to now follow the games you want, view archived videos and have access to more advanced directories, video game streaming and spectating as part of the home entertainment experience is only going to get stronger."
