Black Ops 2 vs. Modern Warfare 3: War of Zombies, Face Off, and Incentives

The Call of Duty franchise will be pitting its two hard hitting titles Black Ops 2 and Modern Warfare 3 against one another as developers are hoping Black Ops 2 will break Modern Warfare 3's game sale records.

Pre-order sales are going strong for Black Ops 2 but recent news of Modern Warfare 3's latest features will keep the rivalry intense.  With both games coming with new innovations and gameplay modes, it may be a challenge deciding which will be more popular.

Black Ops 2 features special "Strike Force" missions, allowing players to make choices during a campaign that will determine outcomes of other missions. It also enables players to control different war assets like aerial vehicles, jet fighters and robots.

Black Ops II also sees the return of Zombies mode in the main story campaign. Zombies will also come with the multiplayer engine enabling new game modes and support for 8 player co-ops.

Modern Warfare 3 is coming with a new Face Off mode of its own, where players have intimate combat experiences in one-on-one or two-on-two death match.  It features three multiplayer maps, two special ops maps, and a new competitive mode.

Face Off's new maps called Erosion and Aground are  now available for free on Xbox Live.  The Getaway and Lookout maps will only be available for the Call of Duty Elite subscribers or as part of Modern Warfare 3's Content Collection 2.

Modern warfare 3 also comes with three multiplayer maps: Foundation, Sanctuary and Oasis.  In the game, two new spec-missions have also been included with new maps Ironclad and Kill Switch.

Pre-order incentives have also been revealed for Black Ops II with Amazon.com offering a "digital wallpaper" and GameStop giving out two-sided Black Ops 2 poster. Best Buy is also giving out a Black Ops 2 dog tag if players pre-order from them.

Members of the PowerUp Rewards (PUR) members have also been offered Modern Warfare 3 prestige token, for Xbox 360 or PS3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be released on November 13 for all platforms PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 whereas Modern Warfare 3's new multiplayer mode for the second downloadable collection will be launched for Xbox Live on May 22.
