Samsung And LG Bendable Phone: Flexible Displays Coming To Smart Devices In Near Future?

Stop Breaking Your iPhone, Samsung Is Working On A True Bendable Phone

Remember a couple of months ago when people were bending their iPhones and breaking them? Because people are gullible and lack critical thinking skills, Samsung and LG want to help the dream of bendable phones become a reality, and have been working on a way to make it so.

CNET reports that the boys in the labs over at Samsung and LG have been working on technology that will create a truly bendable phone. Of course, you don't have to stop there. Once the tech is engineered there's no reason why you can't make everything bendable.

Samsung expects the first designs for devices to come out at the end of next year. It won't be until sometime after that you can have a foldable phone. Even though making the display is something that has been accomplished, the rest of the phone has not.

Parts for the phone are still way too expensive to make, meaning that consumer models aren't in the picture yet. In order to make this a reality, you would have to make the entire phone foldable and batteries aren't really known for their flexibility. Yet.

Developers are working on the problem, creating new types of display glass, thinking outside the box when it comes to the materials for the cases, etc. Ultimately, in order to have a bendable phone, they have to figure out how to make the entire thing bend, not just one part.

Until then, it remains an idea in development.
