The Walking Dead News: 'Cobalt' Spinoff Show May Tie Into Season Six

Season Six Of The Walking Dead May Tie Into Cobalt Spinoff

The Walking Dead spinoff code named Cobalt, has previously been reported not to have any reoccurring characters between the shows. A new report seems to point that there might be at least one in the coming season of the show.

The Walking Dead Spinoff Script Leaked, Timeframe Confirmed

The Nerdist reveals that a new character in the sixth season of The Walking Dead original flavor will in fact contain someone from the new show, Cobalt. This does not go against what creator Robert Kirkman has said.

He said that no characters that had appeared in The Walking Dead would show up in the new show. With the next season not yet shot, this still is the truth, albeit a bit of a loop hole.

The next season will have flashback that show the spinoff character's past and tie them into the other show.

There are some logistical issues of course. The new show happens at the beginning of the zombie apocalypse and on the west coast. That seems a long way to travel in a zombie infested wasteland.

It will be very interesting to get some more insight on what the rest of the country is suffering through and such a character would be able to give loyal watchers some insight into the greater world that Kirkman has created. After all, there are zombies everywhere.

Cobalt does not have an official release date but it is rumored to run the AMC lineup for the fall.

The Walking Dead will return to AMC on February 8.
