The Top 5 Exotic Weapons In Destiny

Mohawk founder Soren Johnson, who co-designed Civilization III and served as lead designer on Civilization IV, introduces the game in the debut trailer below. He explains the team's desire to create a competitive RTS that doesn't focus on military action, and explains the various systems that help you get an edge.

While this is the game's first public showing, you won't have to wait long to try it--Offworld Trading Company will be hitting Steam Early Access on February 12. Pre-orders are available from the official website, and are currently discounted to $35.99 from $39.99. Here's the game's synopsis via the site, to pique your interest for the more in-depth video below.

"Offworld Trading Company is a real-time strategy game in which money, not firepower, is the player's weapon. Players must stake their claims to resources and wrest any advantage they can buying and selling on the real-time marketplace--but greasing some palms on the black market for a timely pirate raid on a rival's supply chain can make all the difference."

You won't be building up armies to march into your opponent's base, but will instead create a colony and drive up the price of resources while managing other aspects of the economy. It sounds interesting, and seems to be providing the RTS twist that he developers are aiming for--check back for more coverage in the future.
