Lionsgate Debuts 'The Hunger Games The Exhibition' Fully Interactive Museum This Summer In New York

The Mockingjay Soars Into Times Square This Summer WIth The Hunger Games: The Exhibition, New Interactive Museum

Katniss is coming to Times Square.

Xbox One February Update: What's It Bringing This Month?

Lionsgate, in association with Imagine Exhibitions, announced the debut of The Hunger Games: The Exhibition, a new interactive exhibit at the Discovery Museum in Times Square New York. The immersive exhibition of the worldwide phenomenon is scheduled to run from July 1 to January 3.

Now, you can go see The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 at the Empire theater and then head on up about four blocks to relive the adventure.

EA Updates Battlefield Hardline In A Major Way

The Hunger Games: The Exhibition recreates the world of the films through costumes, props, interactive exhibits and will feature seven galleries including District 12, Tribute Train, The Capitol, Making the Games, District 13, Fan Gallery and Katniss's Journey."

"Highlights include iconic costumes from the films such as the Girl on Fire dress, the Mockingjay dress and the Mockingjay armor; key artifacts including the Mockingjay pin, Cinna's sketchbook and Katniss's bow; and interactives including an explorable map of Panem, gamemaker's control table and a stunt choreography interactive."

The Discovery Museum's tie-in events are a lot of fun for kids. We had a blast at their last "museum", the S.H.I.E.L.D. exhibit when it was there this past summer.

"The Hunger Games: The Exhibition offers visitors an unparalleled experience and brings them closer to the world of Panem," said Jenefer Brown, Lionsgate Senior Vice President of Location Based Entertainment. "Through a dynamic series of interactives, never before seen content, and immersive environments, guests will connect to The Hunger Games in a one-of-kind experience. The application of the film's science, technology, and real world problem solving also translate to a valuable educational experience that will resonate with school groups and visitors alike."

Sadly, it is not The Hunger Games theme park which I so love envisioning and as such, will not feature two dozen children fighting for my own amusement. Yet.

Tickets go on sale April 21 for $22.50, and you can start "getting in line", so to speak on February 24 to register. After the Times Square run is over, the exhibition will embark on a world tour. You can head over to the official site, the unintentionally hilarious www.thehungergamesexhibition (you'll know it when you see it).

Mockingjay - Part 2 hits theaters this November 20.
