Resident Evil Remastered Sales Are Staggering- Fastest Selling Digital Title In Capcom's History

Resident Evil Remastered Sales Are Staggering

The HD remastering of the original Resident Evil has proven to be a very successful and popular foray for Capcom. Not only has the game become the fastest selling digital title in history across North America and Europe, it's also broken the record for the biggest selling day one digital title on the PlayStation Network.

Not bad for a game originally released in 1996.

"It's been great to see so many positive comments from fans that have enjoyed this new release," said Capcom's Producer on the title, Yoshiaki Hirabyashi. "The team here at Capcom Japan have worked hard to bring the game to the latest generation of consoles and we are thrilled at this news on its performance."

We really enjoyed our time with the game ourselves, as you can see by reading our full review. The horror aspect still holds up, and the additions to the visuals, sound, and control options all add to make this the definitive version of the classic game.

Certainly this shows that the interest would be there for a full remastering of Resident Evil 2, the superior sequel to the orginal. Right, Capcom? Or is the plan to re-release Resident Evil 0 next?
