Razer Giving Away Nabu X At GDC: Free Mobile Bands Available For App Developers Who Visit The Booth

Razer Is Giving Away Nabu X Bands To Developers At GDC

Razer did very well for itself at CES 2015, winning accolades for its announcements, and the electronics company looks to continue its success at GDC.

The highlighted product this time around will be the Nabu X, and Razer will be giving them away to developers. In a press release today the company announced that it will hand out the mobile wrist bands to devs who visit Razer's booth during expo hours until March 6.

You can't just wander up and claim you're a developer, of course--they won't hand them out to anyone. You'll need proof of an iOS or Android app you have developed or are developing in order to walk away with your Nabu X, but that's a pretty sweet deal.

"Since its launch last year, the Nabu Developer Program has grown significantly," says Jun Shen Chia, Razer product marketing manager. "We have an evolved SDK, comprehensive guidelines to help programmers get started quickly, and an open communication channel to our Development Relations team at Razer. We're looking forward to meeting developers in-person at the (GDC) show and get them rolling on connecting great apps with our award-winning hardware."

If the supply runs out at GDC, qualified developers who continue to approach Razer can have units shipped to them after the event. Razer wants people joining the Nabu Developer Program, and this will give incentives for developers to create on the platform. The Nabu X is compatible with the iPhone 5, 5S, 5C, 6 and Android 4.3-and-up, and normally costs $49.99. For more information on the Nabu Developer Program, watch the video below.
