Call of Duty Black Ops II gets a Zombie Overhaul plus New Multiplayer Options

The multiplayer expectations for Call of Duty Black Ops II are clearly, as previous DLC indicated, escalating. While the main multiplayer mode is still under wraps, a late E3 interview confirms that the Zombie mode will be completely overhauled, even if we can't tell from the looks of it.

In an interview with BebopVox, Activision Vice President of Production Daniel Suarez praises the steps Treyarch take with Black Ops' sequel but saves the best for undead last. The new zombie mode will use the multiplayer engine, wheras the first Black Ops--and CoW traditionally--ran the Zombie mode off the first player engine. Now using the multiplayer allows, based on one hypothetical by Suarez, to allow two teams of 4-player co-op to take on a zombie map.

There's also going to be the return of Combat Training, Theater mode and Wager all set in the Zombie mode. This means you can fire up Theater to get your own zombie machinima for online sharing, or wager that you can get more kills than your team. Still, seems like other additions to the Zombie mode are just waiting to be announced before Black Ops II comes out this Fall.
