Homefront: The Revolution Release Pushed To 2016 For All Platforms

Publisher Deep Silver has announced that the release of Homefront: The Revolution has been pushed until 2016.

Batman Arkham Knight Gets 'M' Rating From The ESRB For Torture And Violence

The title is being developed by a newly-formed in-house group Dambuster Studios as a follow-up to 2011's Homefront. The game will being developed on PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, and the extra time is being provided to create a quality product.

Crytek U.K. was originally developing Homefront: The Revolution, but the studio's effective closure last year led to Deep Silver purchasing the rights. Members of the original studio moved over to Dambuster to continue creating the game, and it makes sense that more time is needed to re-establish a plan and vision before executing to satisfaction.

"We are excited that Deep Silver's acquisition of the Homefront IP and assets from Crytek has allowed development of Homefront: The Revolution to continue with minimum disruption," said Dambuster head Hasit Zala in a press release. "The team here believes we are working on something truly special."

"Dambuster Studios are an extraordinarily talented group," said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO Deep Silver. "We are giving the team every opportunity to turn Homefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title, and have set a 2016 release date to provide them the time they need to achieve this. You can expect to hear more about the game later this year."
