The never-ending cash cow train of remasterings keeps rolling on, with Sony today announcing that God of War III Remastered will be coming to PlayStation 4.

A post on the PlayStation Blog from Sony Santa Monica Studios annnounced the news today in celebration of the original game's 10 year anniversary. It will be arriving on Sony's newest console on July 14.

The game is the most recent main entry in the series, but it still came out five years ago now. It's debatable whether or not that warrants a remastering, but who really decides when a game deserves one? There's less of an argument for classics or decades-old titles, but we're getting a God of War III remastering whether you think we need one or not!

"This action packed thrill ride of a game will take series newcomers and regulars alike on a retina-popping thrill ride filled to the absolute brim with 1080p gameplay, silky smooth combat, earth-shaking weapons, bosses you simply have to face to believe, and an all-new new photo mode so you can share those most tender of God of War moments, like stabbing a Minotaur in the frickin face, with your friends and loved ones," the blog post from Sony Santa Monica's Cory Barlog reads.

"I highly recommend everyone grab a copy and play because whether you are new to the series or Spartan veterans, God of War III Remastered is one damn fine game."

Certainly a lot of positive, hype-building adjectives in that one, but most people tend to agree the God of War games are enjoyable. If you're a super fan, you're in luck, and this can be your first time experiencing the game if you didn't get a chance on PS3.
