Weekly Video Game Release Schedule, April 13: 'Mortal Kombat X' Rules The Roost, 'GTA V' Finally Arrives On PC

This Week's Video Game Release Schedule Brings A Bit Of The Old Ultraviolence With Mortal Kombat X And GTA V On PC

The last 48 hours have been devoted to binge watching Daredevil on Netflix, but Monday means a new set of priorities: getting really, really good at any of the new games coming out this week.

GOG Is Practically Giving Away Some Of The Greatest RPGs Of All Time

There are a bunch of new and exciting titles out, but there's really only one that matters: Mortal Kombat X. The latest edition in the beloved and uber-violent fighting series looks to reinvigorate the franchise and to say that we aren't super excited would be an understatement. When was the last time you well and truly looked forward to a MK game? With an impressive roster, a deep and stellar multiplayer mode and my god, the fatalities, this should be a fan favorite for years to come.

Mortal Kombat X is out on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3 tomorrow, April 14.

GTA V Film Editor Mode: The Greatest Thing Since First Person View

Speaking of violence... Grand Theft Auto V (PC) - April 14 - oft delayed, but if there is any game worth the wait, it has to be this one. Hopefully, not too much will be lost in translation and we'll be able to once again experience all the ridiculousness that made its console version one of the best games ever. Hopefully the load times for Grand Theft Online will be reduced, because we can't wait to start knocking back some dailies and knocking over banks with our friends in the still amazing Heist mode.

Titan Souls (PC, PS4, PS Vita) - April 14 - the long awaited top-down 8 bit Dark Souls spiritual successor - with a little bit of Shadow of the Colossus and Zelda tossed in for good measure - finally launches. Players embark on an epic quest for "truth and glory" against a series of intense boss battles. The kicker? You only have a single arrow to use. We expect players to be finishing this game one handed while blindfolded within the week.

Age of Wonders III: Eternal Lords (PC) - April 14 - the second major expansion to the acclaimed strategy title introduces a wealth of new elements for savvy commanders to control, including the new Necromancer player class that allows you to destroy your enemy even after you've already destroyed him, two new player races and the full Eternal Lords story campaign.

Westerado: Double Barreled (PC) - April 16 - Adult Swim Games and Ostrich Bandito have created a retro throwback homage to the great spaghetti westerns of the 60s and 70s. "If words aren't enough to persuade a character, draw your revolver and see what happens. You can shoot whomever, whenever you like. Be an outlaw or a saint, explore the open world, meet a varied cast of characters and decide how you want your revenge story to unfold."

Gratuitous Space Battles 2 (PC) - April 16 - now with at least twice the amount of gratuitousness, the epic space warfare sim allows a great deal more customization of your ships (do you want it purple with stripes? You can do that!). "This is NOT a standard RTS game, but a management/simulation game about building space fleets and giving them orders. You aren't the dumb schmuck who actually flies into battle and gets lazered. Leave that to those patriotic and keen young dudes from the outer-colonies. Nope, your job is as supreme commander in chief. Sit back at fleet HQ and watch the fireworks as you reduce the enemy to space-dust."

See you in Outworld soon folks, very, very soon.
