'Kingdom Hearts III' Details Coming Soon, Mobile Entry In Development

Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura has finally teased some bits about Kingdom Hearts III.

Three New Sega 3D Classic Series Titles Come To 3DS

Or rather, he teased about teasing some information regarding the much-anticipated sequel to Famitsu. Siliconera had the article translated- we can expect to hear the actual news (and not just news about a news) at this year's D23 Expo in August.

"We're planning some interesting things," Nomura said. "In addition to information on Kingdom Hearts III, I believe there will be some more [that is announced]. Kingdom Hearts III's development is going smoothly, and there will be a new announcements related to it as well."

One of the new announcements is regarding an upcoming Kingdom Hearts mobile title. "One of those announcements will be about a smartphone development for the series, which I believe we'll announce in the near future."

We cling to any and all Kingdom Hearts related news that we can in these parts. The last true entry (non-remake, remaster, represequel that is) was Dream Drop Distance back in 2012, a sort of side-adventure. Kingdom Hearts II was released back in 2005.

To put it in perspective, Half Life 2 came out in 2004 and we've been dying for a true sequel ever since.

Kingdom Hearts III was announced back in 2013 and very little has been shown - a few trailers from E3 each year and scattered bits and pieces every now and then. While we believe the game well and truly exists, we can't help but feel that Nomura and his team of talented individuals aren't just deliberately messing with us.
