'Broken Age' Act Two Launches Today: The Complete Adventure From Tim Schafer Available At Last [VIDEO]

The Circle Is At Last Unbroken: Act 2 Of 'Broken Age' Finally Available Today

Living legend Tim Schafer and the team over at Double Fine have, after much delay and anticipation, released the second act to their acclaimed point and click adventure Broken Age.

Just How To Find Kratos In Shovel Knight On PlayStation Systems

The game was the first truly notable Kickstarter success story, grabbing over $3 million in support from nearly 90,000 fans. Sure, it wasn't a new Full Throttle or Grim Fandango, but it was from the same guy, so of course it would be something special. And true to form, the first act - released last year - was a great success; an irreverent, well constructed and enjoyable adventure that longtime fans of the dormant genre and newcomers alike could enjoy.

Broken Age follows the lives of two teenagers, Shay and Vella "two teenagers in strangely similar situations, but radically different worlds" as they attempt to break free from the traditions of those who watch over them: Shay, the familial computer AIs on his ship; Vella, her family and her village, which want to sacrifice her and others to a god. Though initially "broken" apart by...something, time, space or whatnot, the first chapter ended on a cliffhanger in which worlds truly collide.

Titan Souls Review: Lots Of Titans, Lack Of Soul

Double Fine has put out the official launch trailer for the complete Broken Age adventure. If you've purchased part 1 already, you can update the game and will receive part 2. Buyer beware, there is a moment in the second 'act' that requires you to remember a small, but apparently significant event from the first. A replay is highly recommended. The game was never meant to be released in acts, and as such may have suffered slightly for it.

Broken Age, the complete adventure, is available for PC, Mac and Linux via Steam, PS4, ioS, Android and Ouya.
