Bethesda Nixes 'The Elder Scrolls' Sequel For 'Fallout 4', Eyes To Be Released On November

Well-known game developer, Bethesda, confirmed at the 2015 Gamescom at Cologne, Germany that they will be setting aside The Elder Scrolls for now to give way for Fallout 4. The announcement crushed the tons of The Elder Scrolls fans but at the same time made the Fallout 4 fans happy.

The announcement was made by Bethesda's vice president of marketing, Pete Hines. Hines said that although the sequel of The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is long overdue, they cannot just leave the 'Fallout 4' project in which the software developer is committed to finish before the November launch of the action game.

Hines also did not confirm or acknowledged if Bethesda will be working on the The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim successor after they are through with Fallout 4 since they have a ton of projects currently in line.

On top of the announcement, it is also understood that the game developer will put their focus on Fallout 4's DLCs after its official release in November.

The last Fallout game had numerous DLC packages that went on for nine months after the game was officially released.

Although, there were no confirmations from Bethesda, it is very much expected to do the same for its latest installation of the series.

Before the announcement at the Gamescom, there were rumors that Bethesda will finally release their The Elder Scrolls VI in early 2016. The game's avid fans were already pitching possible storylines for the sequel, most notably, the Argonia storyline.

Fallout 4 is set to be officially dropped in the market this coming November 10 for Sony's PlayStation 4, Microsoft's Xbox One, and Windows PC.
