‘Pokemon Z’ News & Release Date: Likely Set For Fall 2016? 'Pokemon Sun and Moon' and 'Pokemon Go' To Also Be Released Soon

"Pokemon Z" has caused quite a stir to the massive followers of the "Pokemon X and Y" game. Speculations surfaced that the follow-up installment might be released this fall, but unfortunately for the "Pokemon Z" fans, the game won't be launched this year.

According to Day Herald, there is still no legitimate information about the exact release date of the upcoming sequel, so the rumored 2016 release date for "Pokemon Z" circulating on the Internet is very unlikely to happen. Instead, the franchise clearly provides updates on "Pokemon Go" and the forthcoming "Pokemon Sun and Moon."

There are clear indications that "Pokemon Z" is not going to be released this year. The game is still under development and the game developer, Game Freak, has not published any announcement regarding the release date of the follow-up game. With no legitimate updates on the Pokemon Z from the game developers, it is certain that the game won't be released this year.  At least, all indications lead to the fact that the developer is working on it.

Uncertainty clouds "Pokemon Z" as it is yet to be decided whether it will be launched as a separate title or if Nintendo intends to concentrate on the "Sun and Moon" coming this year, ChristianToday reported. Recently, hints that the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" could be the appropriate sequel to the "Pokemon X and Y" as indicated on recent leaks of new Pokemon additions and seventh-generation lineup.

Steady development, plus recent leaks, of "Pokemon Sun and Moon" make a strong case that it will most probably have a multi-regional gameplay, with Japan, New York, and France included in the map. There are also indications that the seventh-generation lineup of "Pokemon" come complete with new starters and Legendary ones.

With all the updates and leaks coming out for the anticipated "Pokemon Sun and Moon" and "Pokemon Go," it is clear that the "Pokemon Z" title is not close to being released yet.  However, as the developer works on the game and if Nintendo goes on with the project, expect the game to have 2017 release.

The new Nintendo NX console is set to arrive in 2017 and perhaps the delay on "Pokemon Z" is a plan intended by the company to make it one of the titles to be released along with the new Nintendo console.
