'Halo 5' Release Date, News & Update: FAQ Reveals Windows 10 Launch Not Happening? New Details Here

343 Industries recently revealed some interesting news noting that Halo 5 Forge map editor is coming to Windows 10 for free. Many Halo 5 fans were curious to know if what they have in store for us, speculating that all Halo 5 might be coming to Windows 10 PC. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen.

'Halo 5 Guardians' No Release For Windows 10; Developer Confirms In FAQ

The developer attempted to lessen down the curiosity of the Halo 5 fans by releasing a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) in a Halo Waypoint post on Friday, May 20. The post confirmed that not all Halo 5 is coming to Windows 10 PC.

With the question, "Is this a sign that you’ll be releasing a full version Halo 5: Guardians on PC?" They directly answered that it's a big N-O. "As we’ve stated previously, we have no plans to release Halo 5: Guardians on Windows 10," 343 said in a recent blog post. "We are focused on building Halo Wars 2 for Windows 10 and Xbox One." 343 then noted that, "Windows 10 remains an important focus for the Halo franchise moving forward."

Gadget 360 reports that Josh Holmes, Studio Head at Halo developer 343 Industries, explained that Halo 5 was never meant to be released on PC. "It's not "full Halo 5" because that would wreck production schedules and be a year too late and the game (Halo 5) wasn't originally built or designed for both platforms in the first place," Holmes said.

What to expect with Halo 5 Forge in Windows 10 PC

The Forge mode is a huge aspect of Halo 5, it's a great map editor and it allows a lot of customization in the game and it added so much replay ability to Halo 5. Forge mode has been one of fans' favorite components of Halo game, so it is pretty exciting to see that component of Halo coming over to Windows 10.

The Halo 5 Forge will be absolutely free, so there's really no reason to complain but the complaints are coming in regardless because we still don't have the traditional Halo games on PC. Of course we have Halo 1 and Halo 2 on PC but that was such a long time ago and there are no words on Halo 3, Halo 4, or Halo 5 ever coming to PC.
