‘Titanfall 2’ Latest News, Release Date & Update: More Cloud Services To Reinforce Game Launch

Respawn Entertainment plans to come up with a big launch party for “Titanfall 2”. To ensure that they don’t get shamed by game connection issues, the company has taken the extra step by tapping three could-based platforms.

“Titanfall 2” is an online game not spared from impending connectivity problems. An expected large drove of players is expected and the last thing Respawn Entertainment wants is a shameful debut.

Lead engineer Jon Shiring reveals that Respawn Entertainment is not taking chances. It will not just be partnering with Microsoft to ensure that players can enjoy the game from the get-go.

More Cloud Servers commissioned

Aside from Microsoft, “Titanfall 2” will get ample backup from Google, Amazon, and other ‘bare metal’ servers. The more servers will be tasked to handle the AI, physics and player movement, Game Rant reported.

Aside from those mentioned, Respawn Entertainment has gone as far as to partner with ‘Multiplay’, a company based in the UK. This isn’t the first time that both have collaborated as they try to spin up servers through different hosting services.

The initiative is impressive and is something that should ensure efficient game play for “Titanfall 2” players. But the company knows that while it does sound impressive, they need to do the necessary testing to ensure the efforts pay off.

Hence, Respawn is planning to run a multiplayer technical test before “Titanfall 2”launches. It sounds a lot like a beta testing phase that most companies have been doing to weed out bugs and problems that could crop up on the game’s launch day.

Avoiding another “Titanfall” debacle

“Titanfall” made use of Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform, a move that was never done or tested before. Hence, issues surfaced right on the very first day and this is a scenario that Respawn is hoping to avoid.

“Titanfall 2” is scheduled to launch on Oct. 28 with game versions for the PS4, Xbox One, and the PC.
