'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' News: Tickets until May 2017 Shows Already Sold Out; New Batch of Tickets to Release Soon

"Harry Potter" fans trooped to bookstores just to get their copy of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" which was officially released on July 31. The two-part Broadway play of the same title also premiered at London's West End theater on the same day and it was a huge hit.

The new book is the eighth and last installment of the "Harry Potter" series and it features the original script of the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" by J.K. Rowling. On the other hand, the stage play version was written by Jack Thorne and the story is a collaborative work of Rowling, Thorne and John Tiffany. Fans can opt to watch the two-part play within the day or in two days.

As expected, the books have ran out in bookstores and the tickets to the Broadway show were sold out. But there is good news, the show producers announced that they will be releasing a new batch of 250,000 tickets so more people could have the chance to see the play. The tickets are set to be distributed on Aug. 4.

According to New York Times, all the show performances of "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" are already sold out until May 2017. The next batch of tickets that will be released this week are for the shows that will be staged for next spring until mid-December 2017.

Rowling chose to open the play in London but she said she hopes that the production will also premiere overseas and eventually go global as the show progress. During the "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" premiere at the West End, The Guardian quoted the author as saying, "I'd love it to go wider than that. I'd like as many Potter fans to see it as possible."

Finally, Rowling added that she would like the play to be shown beyond America. She wishes for fans in many other countries to be able to watch it as well.
