'No Man's Sky' News & Updates: Gamers are Disappointed with the Game Due to Multiple Bugs; Hello Games Releases Experimental Patch to Fix the Issues

"No Man's Sky" is already available for gamers as it already made its way on Windows on Aug. 9. However, although the new game is very popular, it drew flak when fans experienced various glitches when they tried to play for the first time.

Of course, there are many others who like the video game but the negative reviews are just overwhelming and they keep on coming left and right. Some complained about the frame-rate which reportedly dropped to as low as 10 FPS.

Others have reported that the game keeps crashing after the game loads on the screen or when the Alt tab is used. In addition, players noticed really serious stuttering and regardless of how they tried to fix the issues, the game still did not work smoothly.

In the video game distribution site GOG.com, players wrote feedback about the game and someone said that there was also a "horrible pop-in and constant hitching." These comments have reached Hello Games and the team is now looking for fixes and release them through patch notes.

"Whilst many people are enjoying No Man's Sky PC, we are tracking several issues, and working hard to resolve them," Hello Games CEO Sean Murray Tweeted.

Murray and his team really acted fast that they were able to release the first patch the next day. On Aug. 14, Hello Games published the experimental branch to repair the bugs on "No Man's Sky" Steam Community page. Listed below are three of the issues that have been addressed by the game developer:

Alt-Tab and Mouse Jitter

Some systems/configs were crashing or not pausing correctly on Alt Tab. This should now be resolved. Smoothing on mouse movement has been improved to prevent hitching or stuttering, and is now adjustable through the Options menu in "Mouse Smoothing".

Max FPS Cap

On some CPU/GPU configurations, setting Max FPS to 60 or 30 was not giving 60 or 30 FPS (causing stuttering). This has been improved.

Meanwhile, although the "No Man's Sky" patch has been posted, Hello Games reminded players that it should be downloaded only if they still cannot fix the glitches manually. The patch should be the last resort since it is still in beta testing state.
