Season 2 has already portrayed the last two books of the famous author. It has an open ending which could give way to any possible plot for "Wayward Pines" Season 3. A time jump could see us in the series where "Wayward Pines" residents in Season 3 awaken to another dimension.

We saw the invasion of the Abbies in Season 2, but still audience are wondering if the sacrifice Kerry made will ensure survival for the remaining humans. "Wayward Pines" Season 3 plot could bring us the struggle between Abbies and humans as they go through the survival of the fittest.

From the horse's mouth itself, some characters could make a comeback on the "Wayward Pines" Season 3, should the ongoing talks come to a final deal. As we know, the series' main characters are too vulnerable. Shyamalan and Hodge could easily kill them and change character again on the next season. It was Matt Dillon who drove the season 1, while Jason Patric and Djimon Hounsou lead the second season. With the possibility of returning casts, who do you think should lead the season 3?

Deciding whether to continue with "Wayward Pines" Season 3 has got to do with a lot of numbers from different platforms like television ratings, DVR viewing and streaming. From the start, the series got 3.8 million viewers with 1.1 demo rating. With the second season, it only got 2.4 million with 0.7 demo rate. However, if the DVR numbers are considered, season 2 ratings shoot up to 3.5 million with 1.1 demo rating. These numbers could give season 3 a good fighting chance. As Walden proclaimed, "Wayward Pines" is still the number one show of the summer.
