'World of Warcraft: Legion' Release Date, News & Updates: Major Changes Include Scrapping Level-Restricted Zones, New Artifact Weapons, Demon Hunters

Blizzard is all set for the launch of a massive update the World of Warcraft franchise in "World of Warcraft: Legion." The latest expansion is set to revamp the whole game by adding some changes to the way players progress and interact in their world.

Lead game designer Luis Garraga says that one major change for the new expansion which players can look forward to is that level-restricted zones are already scrapped. Now, the whole world and each zone adjusts to the player's level, thus making it a completely new and better experience for new and seasoned players alike, reports Cinema Blend.

GameSpot also reports that this new expansion also brings with it a very exciting new feature that could make a player stronger: Artifact Weapons. When asked about this, Garraga reveals that this feature is similar with legendary quest lines wherein some classes got special quests to conquer and some specific weapons.

As for the Legion expansion, they did one quest line for every class spec, which means that every class has a hand-tailored story about how they get the weapon. The Artifact Weapons also come with very specialized powers thus, as a player gets stronger, the weapon can be used better.

Amongst the new features to be introduced, possibly the most significant would be the introduction of a new class: Demon Hunters. These are a new class of fighters which have been described as more of a protagonist in an action game rather than another player avatar in a MMO.

Garraga says that the addition of the Demon Hunters is the first big feature which he is very excited about. These are the Special Forces branch of the elves, the most elite, and were trained all their lives for hunting down and defeating demons. Unfortunately, these Demon Hunters were misunderstood by their brethren and as a result, were outlawed and cast into prison. So when the Legion comes back it would be torn between taking their chances with the Demon Hunters or just admit defeat.

The latest instalment to the Warcraft franchise,"World of Warcraft: Legion" will be launching on August 30. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more updates on "World of Warcraft: Legion."
