'Legion' Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Noah Hawley Adds A Touch Of 'Fargo' In The Series? Will Alter Its Original Story?

The first teaser of "Legion" revealed at the San Diego Comic-Con instantly made noise and caught every superhero fan's attention. In fact, the coming TV series is already confirmed as part of the X-Men universe that will be developed with Noah Hawley's expertise.

Noah Hawley To Add A Touch Of 'Fargo' In 'Legion?'

"Legion" is currently in development by Noah Hawley, who is highly praised for creating the critically-acclaimed "Fargo." In fact, the 49-year-old producer is set to give the show a twist like what Coen Bros. made in their 1996 movie. However, as "Legion" is known as a component of Marvel's comic book, the screenwriter revealed that he will alter its story from the original one.

"It's about taking that character and really exploring, almost on an existential level," Noah Hawley told IGN about creating "Legion." He wants to show that there's a big difference in adapting a comic series into television and movie. "It's not about action, it's about character and theme ... you can really play with structure and you can deconstruct the story in a big way," he added.

'Legion' Alleged Plot

Meanwhile, for those who don't know "Legion" is actually the son of Professor X, named David Haller. He is a mutant with practically infinite powers that is already considered to reach the "Omega Level," as per Movie Pilot. The "Omega Level" mutant cannot actually be classified, but only known to have an "almost unlimited potential." However, as Noah Hawley promised that he's going to change its original story, there's a possibility that the "father-and-son" relationship of the two will never be featured in "Legion."

"Legion" was once again introduced as part of the "New Mutants." Allegedly, he has the ability to absorb people into his own consciousness. Hence, this might be the start of "Legion" story with the reported disappearance of some individual. "Legion" is now in production and is set to premiere globally in early 2017 on FX.
