Grand Theft Auto 5: 47000 Fans Sign Petition For PC Version

More than 47,000 fans have signed a petition asking developers of Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PC version of the game.

The petition was created by chang.org, and seeks 100,000 signatures. The petition is a reaction from fans with Rockstar confirming only PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions.

"Please release GTA 5 on PC," pleads the petition. "GTA games have been a large part of so many people's lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have. I hope you consider the release of GTA 5 on PC as it'll make many people very happy!"

Rockstar said in October, "for those asking about the PC platform, we're currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don't have any details to share about a PC version at this time."

Recently Dan Houser said, "everything else is up for consideration" about Grand Theft Auto's expansion into PC platform, IGN reported.

The petition was initiated by Mike Julliard, a fan of Grand Theft Auto who said, "GTA is an amazing PC game and the idea of it not being on PC is a mistake!"

The petition requires people who sign up to give a reason why it is important to them.

Rockstar might have a delayed release of the PC version. The PC version of Grand Theft Auto 4 was released seven months after its console release.

Grand Theft Auto 5 is slated for a Spring 2013 release for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
