‘Fallout 4' DLC 'Nuka World’ Latest News & Updates: The Tearjerking Story Behind the Latest DLC’s New NPC ‘Good Guy Evan’

Those who have already explored "Fallout 4's" latest DLC "Nuka-World" might already have encountered a queer NPC dubbed by many as "Good Guy Evan." While he might not be too noticeable to many, the deep story behind this character will surely touch any player's heart.

Mobile N Apps reported that Evan's story began months ago when Reddit user NoohjXLVII wrote a long post about how Fallout helped him cope with the loss of his dad. He was able to seek refuge whenever he played the game, while mentioning a bipedal sentry bot named GR-36 which kept him company during his adventures. Sadly, another tragic event struck his family as his younger brother named Evan also passed away due to some complications with diabetes.

Forbes also noted that this post struck Bethesda deep down inside and led them to take some time to immortalize Evan in the form of an NPC. If a player travels down to the southern part of the new area, Evan can be seen there; chilling on top of a trailer while enjoying the view. The character's kind voicework, which arguably makes him one of the nicest persons in the Fallout world, has earned him the nickname "Good Guy Evan."

He will then offer players a Nuka Cola recipe and advise them to help themselves to whatever they can find in his trailer. His brother NoohJCVLII even approves of this approach to this attitude as the real life Evan would even give off his shirt to another in need. Other than that, Bethesda sent NoohJXLVII an enourmous care package which includes shirts, a soundtrack, bobbleheads, an a stuffed Deathclaw. The care package also includes a handwritten note from the community manager of Bethesda, as can be seen in a later post by him.

While Evan may not be the first video game fan to be immortalized in a later instalment, this is truly one of the more touching stories any gamer would encounter. In a later post, NoohJXLVII says "thank you Bethesda for providing me with this wonderful game and distraction for everything I'm going through." He adds that it might be sad that he has to go about without his little brother, but at least he got to meet his son in another place.
