'Harry Potter Go' Release Date, News & Update: Niantic Signs Million Dollar Contract, Acquires Rights For 'Harry Potter?' Game Released By 2017?

"Harry Potter Go" might be getting a green light sooner than expected thanks to the persistence of the fans.  The clamor for the Hogwarts world to be turned into an augmented reality game like "Pokemon Go" is getting louder and might have finally caught the attention of Niantic.

In previous news, making of "Harry Potter Go" into a reality has been severely downplayed mainly because it still needs a tedious discussion between Warner Bros., J.K Rowling and Niantic.  Currently, there is an online petition for "Harry Potter Go" to be made into a real life game.   Although as of writing, there are still less than 100,000 signers, the Potterheads behind the petition are hopeful that they will gain more signatures soon.

One of the triggering factor that pushed fans to the edge is the fan-made video showing what could possibly happen if there's a "Harry Potter Go" game.  In the said video, the viewers are taken to Hogwarts and other magical places full of magic, spells and wizards.  The popularity of "Pokemon Go" as an augmented reality game has inspired fans to yearn for a "Harry Potter Go" game.

As of now, Niantic still hasn't released an official statement on whether they are considering making "Harry Potter Go."  They are still busy tweaking updates for "Pokemon Go" which might be the reason for foregoing discussions for "Harry Potter Go."  Another thing that might be hindering Niantic from making "Harry Potter Go" is perhaps they are thinking twice of the price for acquiring the label.

"Harry Potter" is a worldwide phenomenon, with books and movies under its belt.  If Niantic aims to acquire rights to make "Harry Potter Go," the price will surely be more than what they have spent for "Pokemon Go."  The people behind Niantic might still be contemplating if making "Harry Potter Go" will be worth the financial risk they would have to endure.  Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "Harry Potter Go" news and updates!
