‘The Blacklist’ Season 4 Air Date, Spoilers, News & Update: Ryan Eggold Teases Tom’s Fate; Red Is Liz’s Real Father?

"The Blacklist" Season 4 is premiering in just less than a couple of weeks and fans will soon find out what Alexander Kirk's (Ulrich Thomsen) real motives are towards Liz (Megan Boone), whom he claims to be his daughter. While viewers expect that Season 4 will focus more on uncovering the truth about Kirk, as well as Red's (James Spader) connection to Liz, there is one story arc that got overlooked - that of Tom's (Ryan Eggold).

Liz Keen won't be the only person who may need saving in "The Blacklist" Season 4. Eggold teased the fate of his character during an interview with Entertainment Weekly and the actor revealed that his character will first be seen on the new season locked up inside a trunk. However, Tom will eventually escape and he will be out to find Liz.

Tom isn't the only one who's willing to risk his life just to save Liz. According to TV Fanatic, Red will also go after Liz and take her away from her captor, who happens to be Kirk. It is speculated that Red will rescue Liz and the two will reunite but there's going to be some big revelation and explanation that's bound to happen. For one, Red may need an explanation on why Liz had to fake her death. "The Blacklist" Season 4 is also expected to reveal how Liz and Red are connected.

In previous seasons, Red has always been like a father to Liz and fans are starting to think that he is actually Liz's real dad. Now that Kirk has surfaced, it remains to be seen who Red really is in her life. Then again, there's that possibility that Red is really not Liz's biological dad as he had said to her before. As for Kirk, executive producer John Eisendrath revealed that this man steps up to be Liz's dad but people have yet to find in out if he will hurt Liz or genuinely help her in "The Blacklist" Season 4. The new season returns to NBC on Sept. 22.
