Android 7.0 Nougat Latest News & Update: Arrives on Motorola Z & G4 Lines

Android 7.0 Nougat is all set to dominate Nexus phones with its latest OS version, but now, people are starting to wonder, just when will it roll out to other devices? Motorola has been on the lookout so when asked whether its lineup will receive the update, they confirmed the last quarter of the year.

In a recent report by Droid-Life, a Motorola representative confirmed that, the Moto Z and Moto G4 lineup will get the Android 7.0 Nougat starting October. The 4th quarter of the year will start in a few days and will run till the end of the year. It may take time for all the said devices to get the OS update.

In particular, the Motorola lineup getting the Android 7.0 Nougat includes Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Moto Z Play, Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. The rest of the Motorola series may have to wait a bit more before the brand can totally adapt the new updated OS

Meanwhile, as exciting as it may seem, a review of the Android 7.0 Nougat revealed, it crashes more than the iOS 10 update. We can't totally claim that, but Forbes featured a report by Apteligent saying, the Nougat had a 2.5 times more crashes than the iOS 10 did in the past. The stat is based on the OS' network related crashes.

Meanwhile, the Android 7.0 Nougat had a 6.4 percent app crashes recorded compared to iOS 10's 4.1 percent. Compared to the Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the Nougat is basically trailing in performance. In a recent statement from Apteligent, it said "When Marshmallow was released it was the most stable Android OS in Apteligent's datawarehouse. The opposite has happened thus far with Nougat."
