Details for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance's VR Mission, Wii U Port is a Small Possibility

There hasn't been a whole lot of third party support for Nintendo's Wii U, and the list of games that seem intent on passing on the console seems to be growing.

However, giving hope that maybe Wii U owners will get a bit more options for their gaming library was a tweet from Platinum Games writer J.P. Kellam. Responding to a fan's question of a possible Metal Gear Rising: Revengance port, Kellam seemed to indicate that the idea wasn't entirely outside the realm of possibility, tweeting, "[Konami] would have to see demand for it and bring us the request to port."

So if your aim is to see the game make its way on over to the Wii U, best speak your voice loudly. There's already any number of petitions from fans out there, trying to plead their case to Konami, so either sign your name and stop yer bellyachin'.

In other Rising news, the PlayStation Blog is offering up some more details for the exclusive-to-PS3-in-the-US VR Missions Pack DLC.

VR training missions have been a nice little hallmark for the Metal Gear series, so much as extra content is concerned, so seeing it on the newest addition to the franchise is definitely welcome. As the post describes, the DLC brings "30 all-new missions to the game, featuring that classic VR/Virtual Reality look inspired by the original Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, the pack is pure, uncut gameplay that pushes Raiden's Cyborg body to its limits.

Featuring a mix of combat training, tactical maneuvering, stealth-based approaches and more, these missions will both provide practice in which to hone your skills in original stages not seen the in the game's campaign, and feature an eclectic mix of challenges that any veteran of METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Substance or METAL GEAR SOLID: VR Missions would come to expect. And, in an interesting twist, you'll be able to take control of the much loved/hated Dwarf Gekko in the VR Missions."

The VR Missions Pack may be exclusive to Sony gamers in the US, but it will be available on both platforms abroad.

Set four years after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the PatriotsRising sees Metal Gear's resident cyborg Raiden slice n' dice through metal as well as men. Since his last appearance, Raiden has since gone to work for the private military and security company, Maverick Security Consulting Inc.

Though there will be some stealth elements, what Rising's creative producer, Shigenobu Matsuyama describes as "hunting stealth," Metal Gear Rising is obviously all about the action. Armed with a high frequency blade that can cut through steel like a hot knife through butter, players will use a sophisticated cutting system to command Raiden to hack n' slash through hordes of enemies, and make french fries four different ways.

Appearances by past Metal Gear characters such as Solidus Snake should also serve to flesh out Raiden's backstory as a child soldier, and his development into the weapon of war he's become.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will release for PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 Feb. 19. Check out the english trailer here!
