Wal-Mart Spills the Beans on Aliens: Colonial Marines First DLC, "Bug Hunt"

Oh, retailers, you big spoilsports you.

Despite, seemingly, any official announcement from either Gearbox or Sega, it looks as though we now know when players get to try out the first bit of DLC for Aliens: Colonial Marines.

A member over at the Gearbox forums was walking through his local Wal-Mart, when he happened across the following ad, which he promptly snapped a picture of, and posted it on the forum.

Judging from the ad's description, the DLC sounds like a fairly straightforward Team Survival Mode, which doesn't exactly earn the $14.99 price tag. Then again, I could be (hopefully) wrong, and maybe there's a bit more to the DLC then it would seem.

Other forum members don't seem to happy at the DLC, seeing it as something that should be included from the get go. As of yet, Gearbox hasn't stepped forward to defend this DLC, but with the game's release just around the corner, it may be a bit too late for changes.

Pitched as a direct story sequel to the movie "Aliens," players wil return to the LV-426 with another crew of grunts (one of whom must have at least a class 3 rating) to search the planet for the missing Ellen Ripley and fellow marines. Settings will include the infamous derelict ship, Hadley's HopeAlien Hive, and the U.S.S Sulaco.

Marine firepower like the smartgun, flamethrower, and the infamous pulse rifle will once again be used to blast away at the acid blooded baddies. Remember: short, controlled bursts. Also, gamers will have the ability to weld doors shut, and set up sentry guns, just like Hicks and Hudson did in the movies.

Both the Alien films and videogames have a history of tense, creepy moments, and paranoia. Marines is expected to be no different, so stay frosty.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will release for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on Feb. 12, 2013, and on the Wii U in March,
