Deadpool Release Date Set for Summer, Says Comic Ad

An advertisement from a Marvel comic says that High Moon Studios' Deadpool will be released this summer.

Whoever first spotted the picture neglected to mention which issue, but did scan and post it on Deadpool Bugle.Transformers: Fall of Cybertron developer High Moon studios has released a game annually in August for the last three years: Transformers: War for Cybertron, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. It looks like High Moon is on track to maintain their launch streak, even with a new franchise.

High Moon has been tight lipped about their next game thusfar, releasing only small amounts of information since the game was announced in July. Aside from some screenshots, Marvel has revealed that Deadpool nemesis Cable and his partner Domino will make an appearance. The physical embodiment of Death is also said to feature prominently. Also chimichangas.

The ad still sports a "rating pending" from the ESRB, but given the game's first trailer, expect a Mature rating. Which is kind of ironic, as Deadpool's humor is anything but. Given Cable's history with time travel, and an entity as powerful as Death, mixed with Deadpool's penchant for surrealist lunacy, expect the game's plot to be all sorts of wacky. "It's been a long time since I've laughed this much while making or playing a video game," said Deadpool game director Sean Miller.
