The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is on everybody's lips bit still there's no confirmation on when it will be released. Amidst reports of a 2016 release date, its rumored specs point towards a 2017 release after the launch of the 7th Generation Core processors, formerly codenamed Kaby Lake.

According to Mobile & Apps, VP and GM for the Client Computing Group at Intel, Navin Shenoy, confirmed the arrival of the Kaby Lake chipsets by the end of this year. He also said there are 400 designs coming to the market with lots of innovation from Intel's OEM partners.So, will Microsoft Surface Pro 5 sport a Kaby Lake chipset? We'll see.

The Windows 10, Redstone 2 update is also expected next year and Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could include both the Kaby Lake chipset as well as the Redstone 2 update. Some tech enthusiasts believe that the Kaby Lake processors have already been made available to top smartphone manufacturers.

This is because if the tech giant has to manufacture the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 right after the Kaby Lake processors are made available, it would have to be super-fast in manufacturing the device to make it available to consumers. This is the reason many believe that the Kaby Lake chipsets have already reached top device manufacturers.

As per NEUROGADGET, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 may have a 4K resolution screen, USB Type-C ports for faster charging and data transfer, rechargeable Surface Pen, fingerprint sensor, 16GB RAM and 16MP rear/8MP front camera. The Windows 10 Redstone 2 update is expected to have an Office Hub that would integrate features from Windows 10 and Office 365, allowing users to access emails and documents easily.
