Aquaman and Shazam Join Injustice: Gods Among Us Roster [TRAILER]

NeatherRealm Studios has answered our prayers. Two more Leaguers have been brought into the fold for Injustice: Gods Among Us: Aquaman, king of Atlantis, and Shazam.

An IGN exclusive trailer has "surfaced," giving us a peek at the king of Atlantis, Arthur Curry, better known as Aquaman. A hooded figure with the familiar lightning bolt on red is also briefly seen in the trailer, leading most to believe that Captain Marvel, will also feature in the game. It also adds a bit more to the ever emerging story, and how the underwater kingdom figures into Superman's landlubber autocracy.

Often ridiculed by comic fans, the trailer shows that this trident-wielding Aquaman is no joke. Commanding the sea and everything in it, Aquaman looks set to disprove all the negativity he's been getting over the years. Much like the rest of the characters, Aquaman's look seems based DC's universal "New 52" reboot.

Aquman's inclusion would bring the total playable characters to 16, 17 if Captain Marvel is around to Shazam things up. They'll join Lex Luthor, Bane, Deathstroke, Batman, Superman, the Flash, Cyborg, Nightwing, Wonder Woman, the Joker, Green Arrow, Green Lanten, Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Solomon Grundy, with even more on the way. According to the presentation at last year's EVO, the full roster will feature 24 playable characters and 15 arenas.

Injustice: Gods Among Us will hit stores April 16th, on Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Correction: The character we originally called Captain Marvel in this post is named Shazam in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
