Based on the article shown at Nexus Files for Developers, Google has not only posted an Android 7.0 Nougat factory photo but also a flashable OTA file. More so, there have been a lot of notes suggesting that Nexus 6s are expected to receive OTA updates now,
Google, however, hasn't made any statement about why the Nexus 6 fell quite far behind the update among the Nexus line. It is also not really unusual for some Nexus units to be a little bit delayed in getting the most up-to-date Android software, Android Central reported.

The Nexus 6 together with the Nexus 9 are two of the oldest devices of the Nexus line supported in the Android 7.0 Nougat release. While Nexus 6 has been made available to consumers two years ago, it is still good to see that it gets the latest update. More so, with its impressive hardware, fans should not be surprised if the performance has gotten even better.
Google Nexus To Pixel Transition
Meanwhile, the real transition from Nexus to Pixel is not just about how the unit is designed. Instead, it is in how Google wants to sell the device. The Nexus units were always first developer phones, allowing them to get a "clean" copy of Android so they can test apps.
