This Week in Games (2/25)

After a slew bevy of new releases over the last few weeks, February will close out softly with a less-than-overwhelming selection of niche releases. It's the calm before the storm, however, with a couple of the year's big-name sequels and reboots set to come out in March.

Besides, in the wake of Sony's PS4 announcement this week, you might prefer to start hiding cash under the matress to get ready for the game's potentially massive price tag.

Of course, just because there aren't any major blockbusters doesn't there isn't anything interesting to pick up. Leading the pack this week, Bit.Trip Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Allen brings back rhthym-based endless running to almost every platform you can think of. That said, PC might be your first choice for the game, if only because the game will be ten percent off on Steam at launch.

If you'd prefer something a little more epic, Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan comes to the 3DS this week. A so-called "tribute to retro RPGs," the game's old-school look and design are meant to evoke memories of pen-and-paper RPGs.

Here's a full list of the games coming this week:

2/26

  • Bit.Trip Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm Allen (PC, Mac, Linux, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U)
  • Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan
  • MUD - FIM Motorcross World Championship
