BioWare recently revealed the official launch date and new heroes of "Mass Effect: Andromeda." Players can expect to take on the role of a male or female character in "Mass Effect: Andromeda," although both are actually siblings. The game is set to launch on Mar. 21, 2017.

Creative director Mac Walters told PlayStation Access that the male and female protagonists in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" are actually brother and sister. There is also a third Ryder in the game, their father, who appeared first at E3 2015. Walters explained that at E3 2016, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" fans initially had a glimpse of the female Ryder. The recently shown male Ryder is her brother, and the two will be playable characters in the upcoming game.

In "Mass Effect: Andromeda," whichever sex that players choose will designate which sibling they will play as. The other sibling will be found somewhere in the same universe. Walters added that the N7 character is actually their father, who may also make an appearance. They have revealed the full Ryder family and will be introducing their names and other "Mass Effect: Andromeda" details in the future.

GamesRadar revealed that there are rumors that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" may be featuring The Remnant, the solution of Andromeda's remains to the Protheans. The Khet, a malicious race will also be intent in acquiring Remnant tech. There will expectedly be various alien species in "Mass Effect: Andromeda," although these have yet to be identified. The game might also showcase some steamy romances among a few of the space explorers. Overall, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" appears to be using many of the traditional elements in the franchise, with added focus on exploration.

In terms of combat, players can expect the standard combination of tech, firearms and biotics. Role-playing elements may also return in "Mass Effect: Andromeda." The game may also feature settlement building, new vehicles and jetpacks. Producer Mike Gamble said that they are planning to feature more diversity in terms of the planet types and kinds of experiences that players can have on worlds. They will reintroduce the Mako, the well-equipped moon buggy, among other things.
