The Triumph And Despair Of Tiger Man In Bungie's 'Destiny' [VIDEO]

When Bungie Art Director Christopher Barrett and Writer Joe Staten took stage at GDC last week, they told us all about developing the world and mythos for their new game, "Destiny," set for release later this year on Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and, presumably, whatever Microsoft's next console is.

Everything looks top-notch, the guys seem really enthusiastic, but then, when describing character classes and races, they spoke of a dark time in development.

They spoke of Tiger Man.

Originally a fourth playable race alongside the Human, the Awoken and the Exo, the Tiger Man was described as noble, bestial and, above all else, wise. And yet he did not make the cut. In mourning it seems, Bungie posted up a video Monday that was supposedly "omitted" from the GDC talk detailing the Tiger Man's storied development and eventual downfall at the Bungie studios. We've got the goods below.

At this rate, however, with all his popularity from GDC and the subsequent video, we may just see an entire planet dedicated to the Tiger Man race in the final, solar-system-spanning game. And they'll all be wearing different colored ties.
